Prioritization with JUICE

This Template helps to guide Product Owners, Product Managers and Agile Teams through the usage of a Sidekick called Prioritization with JUICE.

JUICE blends aspects of the economic prioritization strategy Weighted Shortest Job First (WSJF), Kanban Classes of Service, and RICE (Reach, Impact, Confidence, Effort).  The Sidekick works with any description of a Feature to guide participants through a conversation about five factors:

• Justification - What evidence do we have of a demand signal? (Product Owner/Manager or Sponsor)

• Urgency - How does this item's value decay over time? (Product Owner/Manager or Sponsor)

• Impact - What magnitude of outcome should this item deliver? (Product Owner/Manager or Sponsor)

• Confidence - What is the evidence that we can actually deliver this well? (Team or Developer)

• Effort - How much are we willing to invest in this, and what would that buy us? (Team + Product Owner)
