Learning Backlog Template

What is it for?

The template provides a loose framework for developing a personal learning backlog.

Who is it for?

It can be used by a coach or manager with their coachee, or by an individual, to support their ongoing development in a lean and iterative fashion.

How should I use it?

• Work through the frames from left to right, either independently or in a 1-1 with a coach or manager.

• Each frame takes ~45 mins to complete, so don't try to do everything in 1 session!

• Once complete, review the goals in your backlog periodically and update them as required.

• Track completed goals by changing their color or adding to the 'Done' frame.

How not to use it

• This is a personal development tool and should not be used by managers for performance management.

• This tool may not work for everyone, so it should not be made mandatory. Use only what is useful, discard what isn't.
