Welcome to the Inclusive AI Policy Hacking workshop! This workshop is designed as an interactive knowledge co-production game to bring cultural practitioners, policymakers, and industry stakeholders together to explore alternative ideas and initiatives for more inclusive AI within the responsible AI innovation and development ecosystem. Drawing on a range of engaged research, design-based inquiry, and dialogue methods, this workshop was developed to facilitate a productive discussion and ideation session between diverse stakeholders. You are welcome to use or adapt this workshop template for your own projects and initiatives – whether they are related to responsible technology policy-making or other topics.

This workshop was developed in 2025 as part of the PhD research conducted by Adriaan Odendaal as a member of the Societal Impact of AI (AiPact)initiative at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Across three workshop sessions conducted during this research, 26 participants came together to explore, problematize, and ideate inclusive AI policy solutions and strategic pathways.

Adriaan Odendaal is a PhD candidate at Erasmus University Rotterdam where he is part of the Societal Impact of AI (AiPact) research team. His research focuses on the impact creative practice can have in facilitating more inclusive AI design practices. Adriaan is co-founder of the research and design studio internet teapot, a collaboration that focuses on critical design projects.
