This is a prototype of a canvas that supports socially oriented co-design processes. It can be used by for example:
Individual practitioners and researchers for ethical reflection and planning
Teams and community partners for identifying ethical risks and power relations and for supporting collaboration and decision-making
Facilitators and researchers for documenting and evaluating ethical dimensions
Non-governmental organisations and communities for ensuring all voices are heard and that collaboration is fair
Students to practice ethical thinking and collaborative design
It can be used at different stages for different purposes, such as:
Planning, in the preparation stages of a collaborative process or a longer project
Iterative reflection during the process to revisit, learn, and adapt
Final evaluation after the process, to assess ethical outcomes and lessons learned
Each section can be revisited and updated as the process evolves. It is recommended, however, to keep the previous iterations visible throughout the process and to duplicate the filled template when making adjustments. Use labels or tags to mark decisions, trade-offs, or unresolved questions.
