Critical Uncertainties

A strategic foresight tool where participants select two high-impact, high-uncertainty variables to create a 2×2 matrix that generates four plausible future scenarios. It is used to explore complexity, stretch thinking, and test the robustness of strategies. NEUROCLIMA is a European project (Jan 2024 – Dec 2026), aiming to raise awareness, provide best practices, and ensure sustainable use of climate change adaptation and resilience solutions. NEUROCLIMA leverages both human and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop viable business models, standardise outcome, and invest in frameworks and toolkits addressing citizen and stakeholder needs and climate change challenges.
