🔄 Complete Improvement Loop

This template guides teams through a clear 6-step process:

01 — Review Previous Actions Start by reviewing progress on actions from the last retrospective.

02 — Team Mood Check-in Capture team sentiment to set context and identify early signals.

03 — Retrospective Activity Reflect on the sprint using a customizable activity (e.g. New Year’s Resolution, 4Ls, Start/Stop/Continue, Starfish).

04 — Problem Clustering & Analysis Group and structure key issues into clear themes.

05 — Solution Ideation Generate actionable solutions to address the identified problems.

06 — Prioritize & Commit Use the Impact/Effort matrix to select 2–3 high-impact actions and commit with clear ownership.

💡 Flexible Retrospective Activity

The “Retrospective Activity” step is fully customizable.

This template includes a New Year’s Resolution activity as an example, but it can easily be replaced with other formats depending on your team’s context, such as:

  • 4Ls (Liked, Learned, Lacked, Longed for)

  • Start / Stop / Continue

  • Starfish

  • Mad / Sad / Glad

  • Any custom activity

This flexibility allows you to adapt the session to your team’s maturity, energy, and goals.
