Breadboarding is a simple approach to be able to visualize a user flow from a user’s perspective, and the approach enables you to try out several different approaches to overcome a challenge or growth area.
The best approach is to sit with a handful of people related to the topic and, utilizing the reduced toolset, map out the product area and the flows to be able to understand the user's perspective, and then apply the challenge on what you could improve on.
