About the Accessibility Sidekick
Building truly inclusive products means thinking about accessibility from the start. The Accessibility Sidekick is an AI partner that helps your team evaluate web prototypes for accessibility issues directly in your Miro board. Instead of waiting for a late-stage audit, you get an expert analysis from an "Accessibility Evaluation Agent" right in your innovation workspace, making it easier to build experiences that work for everyone.
How to use the Accessibility Sidekick
Select your prototype. Start by selecting the finished prototype or specific screens on your Miro board that you want to evaluate.
Ask for an analysis. Prompt the sidekick with a general request like, "Assess the accessibility of this prototype," or ask about a specific area. For example:
"Identify color contrast issues in this design."
"Evaluate heading hierarchy and screen reader compatibility in this layout."
"Review these form error messages for accessibility improvements."
Get your report. The sidekick will analyze the design and generate a structured report on the board. The report includes a summary of your prototype's status, a categorized list of issues, and clear recommendations for how to fix them.
Create an action plan. With the report on the canvas, your team can collaborate in real-time or async to discuss the findings, prioritize tasks, and create a clear plan to address each issue.
Why use the Accessibility Sidekick?
Catch issues early and save time. By integrating accessibility checks into your design phase, you can identify and fix problems before they get locked into code, saving significant development time and resources.
Get clear, actionable guidance. The sidekick doesn't just point out what's wrong; it explains the issues and provides practical recommendations, helping your team learn and apply accessibility best practices.
Improve team collaboration. The accessibility report lives on your shared Miro board, creating a single source of truth that designers, developers, and product managers can use to align on and track necessary improvements.
