What it is
This template uses a PERT chart to map the initiatives, tasks, dependencies, owners, milestones, and decision points needed to deliver a climate-action programme.
A pre-filled example is included to help you get started. Adapt, remove, or add tasks to reflect your climate objective, emissions sources, business context, and delivery approach.
How to use this template
Start by defining the climate objective, project scope, owner, start date, and target completion date.
List each initiative and task in the Task and dependency table. Give every task a clear ID, accountable owner, estimated duration, milestone, predecessor task or tasks, and expected output.
Draw arrows between dependent tasks to show the order of work. Identify activities that can run in parallel, such as collecting baseline data and engaging stakeholders. Mark decision points where approval, investment, supplier selection, policy agreement, permits, or grid connections are needed.
Highlight the critical path: the sequence of dependent tasks that cannot be delayed without delaying the overall climate-action programme. Record key dependencies, risks, next decisions, and review dates as the plan develops.
