I use this template to capture the 'gist' of a proposition, initiative, project or product. In some cases, I have even outlined systems using this template. Note that you may have to adapt some of the fields, dependent on your specific usecase as not all may apply.

I use this template to:

brainstorming top level shape of a proposition / product / initiative
in-team planning at lower level of granularity
provide an elevator pitch style overview of the most important aspects for leadership, team and other stakeholders.
