Report

Plan sustainability projects with clear tasks, dependencies, owners, and decision points.

What it is

This template uses a PERT chart to map every task needed to deliver a sustainability project, from initial planning to final review. It makes the sequence of work, dependencies, parallel activities, and critical path visible.

A pre-filled example is included to help you navigate the template. Adapt, remove, or add tasks to reflect your project.

How to use this template

Start by adding the project name, owner, start date, and target completion date.

List each task in the Task and dependency table. Give every task a clear ID, accountable owner, estimated duration, predecessor task or tasks, and expected output.

Draw arrows between dependent tasks to show the project sequence. Identify which tasks can run in parallel and use draft paths to compare different approaches where useful.

Highlight the critical path: the sequence of dependent tasks that cannot be delayed without delaying the overall project completion date. Record key risks, blockers, decision points, and review dates as the plan develops.

Who it is for

Use this template with sustainability, project-management, operations, procurement, finance, legal, communications, data, and leadership teams. It works especially well for cross-functional initiatives such as emissions-reduction plans, sustainability reporting, circularity projects, supplier-engagement programmes, or regulatory implementation.

What you’ll leave with

A shared project roadmap with clear tasks, dependencies, owners, timing, critical-path activities, parallel workstreams, risks, and next decisions—ready to guide delivery and keep the project on track.
