Seven Ps Workshop Preparation

Report

This template helps you prepare for your next workshop by covering the seven Ps technique devised by James Macanufo and presented by Ryan Hewitt in BA Times: https://www.batimes.com/articles/planning-workshops-using-the-7ps-technique/.

Using this template, you will be able to think about the

  • Purpose of your workshop

  • Product (outcome) that will result from the workshop

  • Process (activities) required to achieve the purpose and outcome of the workshop

  • People that need to be involved

  • Pitfalls that may occur during the workshop so that you can be prepared for them

  • Preparations that need to take place before the workshop

  • Practical aspects that you need to take care of

How to use

The template contains a description of each of these seven Ps along with a set of sticky notes associated with each one of them.

You can fill in the existing sticky notes under each P and add more if you need them.

The exercise can be done by yourself or as a team effort with fellow facilitators.

You also get an example of this technique being used to prepare for a workshop.

The template was designed for requirements workshops, but it can be used to prepare any other workshops as the technique illustrated helps you consider things that are useful regardless of the type of workshop you are facilitating.
