Turn application architecture into a shared conversation, and turn that conversation into actionable development work.
This template brings application architects, developers and security professionals together to review system designs, capture feedback and translate agreed changes into implementation guidance. Use it to reassess an existing application or shape a new application before development begins.
The workflow connects diagrams maintained in a repository with collaborative design in Miro. Start by importing a Mermaid architecture diagram through an AI coding agent and the Miro MCP connector, or sketch your proposed architecture directly on the board. Gather feedback from different disciplines, use AI to organize recommendations, and prepare a revised design for team review. Then translate the agreed changes into Agile user stories and instructions for your preferred coding agent.
How to use the template
Capture the architecture. Import an existing Mermaid diagram and convert it to a free-form diagram for collaboration, or sketch the components and data flows of a new application.
Gather multidisciplinary feedback. Invite architects, developers and security specialists to annotate the design with concerns, requirements and proposed improvements. Work together in a workshop or contribute asynchronously.
Refine the design. Use the AI workflow to summarize feedback into recommendations. Review the output, resolve open questions, update the architecture and record changes. Convert the revised design back into Mermaid for use in the repository.
Prepare implementation work. Generate Agile user stories and an architectural implementation specification covering components, integrations, data flows, constraints and acceptance criteria. Share these outputs with your development team or coding agent.
The board includes a blank workflow, completed examples, spaces for discipline-specific feedback, a recommendation mindmap, an Agile user-story table and an example implementation specification. The examples illustrate how feedback about authentication, encryption, trust boundaries and data access can become concrete design changes.
Use this template for architecture reviews, early application design, security design discussions and modernization planning. Teams leave with a shared understanding of the intended architecture, documented decisions and a clearer path from design to implementation.
The AI-assisted portions are intended for use with Miro AI workflows and, for repository integration, an AI coding agent connected to Miro through MCP. Teams can also sketch diagrams and capture feedback manually.
