Report

Design circular offers that meet customers where they are.

What it is

This template helps teams compare four B2C customer segments and identify which circular offer, message, channel, and intervention is most likely to work for each group.

It explores the motivations and barriers behind behaviours such as buying refurbished products, choosing refill, repair, return, rental, sharing, and resale.

The template is pre-filled with suggested segments, motivations, barriers, offers, messages, and success measures. Treat these as starting hypotheses: adapt, remove, or add content to reflect your market, customers, product category, and evidence.

How to use this template

Use the board for a collaborative workshop and the matching table to record and share the agreed results.

Choose one circular product, service, or behaviour to increase. Then work through the ten factors for each segment, from readiness and motivations to barriers, tailored offers, messages, channels, actions, and success measures.

Use customer research, sales and loyalty data, customer-service feedback, reviews, return data, competitor insight, and input from product, retail, and digital teams. Where information is uncertain, mark it as an assumption to test.

Finish by choosing one priority segment, one behaviour to encourage, one barrier to solve, one offer or intervention to test, and one success measure.

Who it is for

Use this template with product, marketing, customer experience, retail, digital, insights, sustainability, circular-economy, and commercial teams. It is also useful for agencies, consultants, and cross-functional innovation workshops.

What you’ll leave with

A clear segmentation view, a prioritised customer group, a targeted circular offer and message, and a practical test plan with a measurable outcome.
