🧩 The Agile Memory Game

Welcome to The Agile Memory Game – a dynamic, interactive experience that brings Agile learning to life through the classic memory card format. Whether you're running a team-building session, onboarding new team members, or energizing a workshop, this game is a powerful tool to reinforce Agile concepts in a fun and engaging way.

🎯 What Is It?

The Agile Memory Game is a gamified learning tool built in Miro using the Card Flip feature. It includes 138 cards, each representing a key element of Agile methodology. The goal is simple: flip two cards, find a match, and deepen your understanding of Agile while having fun.

🃏 What’s on the Cards?

Each card features a term or concept from one of the following Agile categories:

  • Agile & Scrum Values – Core beliefs that guide Agile teams.

  • Principles – Foundational ideas from the Agile Manifesto.

  • Tools – Commonly used Agile tools and platforms.

  • Roles – Key roles commonly found in Agile teams of all shapes and sizes

  • Ceremonies – Typical events that make up an agile workflow

  • Artefacts – Tangible outputs created and used by agile teams

  • Practices – Techniques used most-often by agile teams

  • Frameworks – Agile approaches are many and varied, this section includes the most-common

  • Metrics – Ways to measure progress and performance for an agile team.

🕹️ How to Play

  1. Flip two cards using Miro’s Card Flip feature.

  2. If the cards match (same concept or category), remove them from the board and take another turn.

  3. If they don’t match, flip them back and pass the turn to the next player.

  4. Continue until all matches are found!

You can play:

  • Individually or in teams

  • In real-time or asynchronously

  • With a time limit or until all pairs are matched

💡 Learning Outcomes

  • Reinforce Agile terminology and concepts through repetition and recall.

  • Encourage collaborative learning and peer discussion.

  • Identify knowledge gaps in a safe, playful environment.

  • Spark curiosity and deeper exploration of Agile practices.

🧭 Facilitator Tips

  • Use mismatched pairs as conversation starters: “What’s the difference between these two?”

  • Add a scoring system to introduce friendly competition.

  • Customise the board by adding your own cards or focusing on specific categories.

  • Use it as a warm-upretrospective energizer, or training tool.
