Why Use the Start, Stop, Continue Template?

This template simplifies the retrospective process and provides a clear path toward team improvement by focusing discussion on specific actions:

Start: Identify new practices, processes, or actions the team should start doing in the next cycle to improve performance or efficiency (e.g., Start doing daily stand-ups).
Stop: Identify negative habits, redundant processes, or ineffective behaviors the team should stop doing immediately to eliminate waste or frustration (e.g., Stop having unnecessary weekly status meetings).
