Simple and effective template for facilitating team retrospectives.

This template is to guide teams through a structured yet flexible reflection session. It includes a check-in section to help team members settle in, share their current state of mind, and create psychological safety before diving into the main discussion. The core of the retrospective focuses on three key questions:

  • What went well? — Highlighting successes, strengths, and positive outcomes from the sprint or project phase.

  • What didn’t go well? — Identifying challenges, obstacles, or areas for improvement in a constructive and blame-free way.

  • Actions to take? — Turning insights into concrete, actionable steps to enhance team performance and collaboration going forward.

The retrospective concludes with a check-out to close the session on a thoughtful note, allowing participants to reflect briefly on the discussion and express how they feel moving forward.
