Inspired by the T.O.T.E model

This template is a framework to help team members to learn from each other. It is inspired by the T.O.T.E model (Test/Operate/Test/Exit), used in NLP. It is a five-steps workshop where people will have to describe how they deal with a task and compare their results with others. It is recommended to invite 2-4 participants and to run a sharing session at the end of your workshop to compare results. The workshop can be done in 1 hour, depending on the number of participants and the length of the sharing session.

When to use it?

Collaboration in teams can be difficult. We use a lot of templates to help team members to solve problems and build products or services, but we don’t work a lot on personal growth. The T.O.T.E. model is a fabulous tool to help people evaluate their strategy in accomplishing their tasks. When it comes to a team, members can discover strategies from other members in the same context. I turned this into a workshop which will help teams to understand what works, or not, and learn what can be done to improve behaviors and get better results.

How to run this workshop?

  1. Team leader define a common situation before the workshop and describe it in the table header

  2. Facilitator asks participants to fill the first row (others rows are hidden) - ⏱ 5mn

  3. Facilitator repeats the same exercise for every row - ⏱ 5mn/row

  4. Participants share their results one by one - ⏱ 10mn/participant

  5. Participants are invited to come back on the board when they face the same situation
