We asked Miro AI to help write a campaign about Miro AI. It said: “Build Rome in a Day.”

Last year at Canvas 25, we introduced teams to the AI Innovation Workspace. Now we’re taking that message global with Miro’s first-ever AI brand campaign. And yes, we made it exactly the way you’d hope: by using Miro AI to get it all done.

To kick the campaign off, we worked with a creative production partner, Tool of North America, to create a tongue-in-cheek film showing how teams can accomplish even the most ambitious projects faster with Miro AI workflows.

Curious how a team distributed across multiple time zones and disciplines came together to concept, create, and launch an AI film in under three months? Let’s go back in time…

It all started with a prompt

In a majorly meta moment, our journey began with a simple AI request:

The results were nearly instant, and the second sticky — “historical achievements reimagined with Miro AI” — really stuck with us. 

That spark of an idea made us wonder: if modern and ancient worlds somehow collided, could Miro’s AI Innovation Workspace help famous teams achieve historic greatness even faster?

There was something compelling about pairing people’s drive to build, create, and achieve — a timeless thread that connects humanity across eras — with today’s AI tools. 

A film about AI, made with AI

To apply Miro’s modern technology to ancient times while making the film relatable to contemporary teams that are under pressure to work faster, we created a universe that blurs the lines between historic figures and tech entrepreneurs; a place where historically great things get done by EOD. 

Big idea, modest budget. Knowing our film would require a large cast, thousands of miles of barren undeveloped land, and a sweeping shot of Rome in all its glory — not to mention two sheep, no wait, three sheep — we turned, once again, to AI.

Building a shared vision

The entire project lived on the canvas, bringing together the Miro team, creative production partners at Tool, and editorial partners across continents and time zones.

Every decision — casting, wardrobe, location, character design — happened in real-time on the board. No endless meetings. No crossed wires. No ideas lost in translation (though some were in Latin).

“Lights, camera, AI”

After aligning on the creative direction via AI-generated storyboards, the Tool team leveraged specialized AI tools to generate everything from the characters (including how they move and speak) to the settings and the soundtrack.

Likewise, the Brand team used Miro Flows to build out all the images, diagrams, timelines, and prototypes for the product demo scenes.

As each new scene took shape, the team used AI to re-generate shots mid-edit, instantly solving creative challenges that might have derailed timelines in a traditional production. 

The result? We delivered the entire film in just six weeks — all in one shared workspace, where brainstorm flowed to strategy, strategy flowed to storyboard, and storyboard flowed to screen.
