Team Building: Portrait Challenge Icebreaker

Fun and creative template to use when you need to engage with your team in a remote setup.

Especially great to use when people don't know each other well. In this template, your team members will create their own portraits from predefined elements or a portrait of a teammate. 

When to use it?

It works perfectly as a team-building activity, especially when you have a newly built team or as a 20-30 min icebreaker during any workshop.  

How does it work?

The template is designed to be easy to use and can be used without much preparation. Here are the steps that you should keep in mind:

Explain the icebreaker. 

Explain that the idea of the icebreaker is that everyone creates their own portrait. Let them know that there are no limits to creativity. They can try to create their own portrait or a teammate's portrait.

Show how it's done. 

Save yourself the long talk and just show how it's done. Create yourself a portrait while showing the participants how they can duplicate the elements and drag them together.

Give participants time. 

Give all of the participants time to create their their portraits. From experience, 10 minutes is a reasonable time frame. At the same time, the participants are on it, look out for people who have trouble with the duplication or overlapping layers.
