Never Have We Ever
What is the template about
In the era of digital transformation, it is extremely easy for colleagues to lose touch with each other — find themselves completely immersed in the daily routine, without the opportunity to communicate, talk, or have fun. Along with everyday offline collaboration, fun, simple competitions that lift our spirits and force us to compete with each other in a game format have quietly disappeared from our lives. Meanwhile, it was precisely such activities that made it possible to transform internal contradictions and competition into something productive, devoid of criticism and energizing for the entire working day.
This template was invented in response to nostalgia for team gaming interaction during a break between current tasks and challenges. In addition to the direct function of an ice-breaker, it allows you to get to know each other better and, as a result, build friendly relationships imbued with empathy and understanding of the colleagues' interests.
When to use it
This template can be used:
as a small team building activity (at those moments of development and formation of a team when getting to know each other and mutual acceptance of each other are especially important)
as a simple, competitive icebreaker/status at the start of the work week (this is exactly how we regularly use it inside Møde)
as a retrospective exercise, allowing each colleague to highlight what he did not have to / was not able to do during the last project
as an interactive KUDOS format for thanking colleagues (while highlighting those shortcomings that were or are absolutely uncharacteristic of the team, for example, “thanks to the team, never have I ever felt deprived of support”)
Why to use our template
This template can be:
your way of maintaining interconnectedness and warm relationships with each other
your opportunity to escape from the work routine, share vivid emotions or an interesting online experience
the first step to create a strong decentralized culture, its own intra-team principles, traditions and rituals
Moreover, thanks to the smooth and understandable UX, you will not lose any of the votes of the participants cast for actions performed at least once in their lives. Due to that you will be able to especially highlight the winners of the warm-up, making them feel like an important part of the team (distinguished by their own preferences, principles and views).
Who might benefit from it
We prefer to conduct this warm-up exercise either within the team (at the start of a project or work week) or with invited facilitators in order to quickly get to know them, as well as clearly demonstrate to them certain aspects of our corporate culture and approach to creating exercises / frameworks. However, you can also use this template when working with your clients to relieve tension and stimulate movement towards the final result (victory).
