When developing new software systems or enhancing existing ones, one increasingly encounters a complex and heterogeneous IT landscape. Therefore, it is an important first step to illustrate the desired system in an appropriate way.

Five canvases of the Interaction Room Method are available for this purpose in this template:

The Feature Canvas provides an initial overview of all relevant topics that need to be considered.

The Process Canvas depicts all elementary processes of the software system.

In the Object canvas, business objects and their relationship to each other are modeled.

The Interaction Canvas visualizes how the user moves through the system.

The Integration Canvas shows how the system interacts with surrounding systems.

In order to uncover the particularly value-driving, high-risk and costly requirements, stakeholders distribute “annotations” on the canvases. This takes place in the Interaction Room Miro Plugin (currently available as a link please contact us at support@interaction-room.de, submission to the Miro Marketplace is in progress).

With the help of a subsequent multi-dimensional evaluation of the annotations, a focus on the success-critical requirements takes place and a prioritization for the subsequent implementation can be made. Further details regarding the Interaction Room method described here can be found on our website: Die Methode - Interaction Room
