So you're starting a new venture (or taking over the reigns) and you need to engage your leadership team (or build cohesion in the current team).

This template will help you distil your thinking about what matters most in the venture, so that you can invite your team's input knowing that you are clear on what you believe is imperative.

Before you start engaging your team, carve out some time to reflect and capture your thoughts in the 3 swimlanes:

  1. Non-negotiable: what are you determined must be in place, in each of the columns?

  2. Preferable: what would you prefer, while open to different perspectives?

  3. Flexible: what topics would you like your team to provide direction on?
