Decision Matrix
A decision matrix, also known as the Pugh method, is a quantitative technique used to rank the multi-dimensional options of an issue.
It is a powerful tool to help us make decisions that involve a number of different criteria and can transform subjective information into more objective data, which may then be used to make more informed and rational decisions.
In this exercise, you'll identify the proposition or question to make a decision about, brainstorm or record available options, specify relevant criteria, and weight them accordingly, and then assign scores out of 10 and add up the totals for each column to arrive at a quantified evaluation.
Write the available options in columns, then assign different criteria to evaluate in each row.
You may also add a multiplier for any criteria that have greater importance or change them to all be x1 if none are more important than others.
Score each option out of 10 and add up the totals to evaluate.
