Build a Product Operating Model Team in One Workshop

Report

This board has been made to convert the abstract 'principles' in product books, team models, and agile manifestos into a tangible case study. This is useful when working with individuals who prefer the 'tangible' and in diverse, hybrid teams where team norms and expectations are often assumed (often leaving neurodivergent individuals or newer joiners behind).

It does this using a comic-strip to compare 'two teams'; creating a 'spot the difference' game between a team meeting the description of a 'high performing product team*' to the 'dysfunctional' team.

*key sources used: project Aristotle (Google), Gallup Q12 insights, 'Transformed' by Marty Cagan, 'Drive,' and the Agile Manifesto.

However, instead of vague descriptions, it brings it to life with two comparable case studies and precise scenarios that teams can relate to. This guides the team through a conversation that gets them to consider 'what good looks like'; and how they can improve their daily ways of working to get there. The instructions are on the board. It contains a suggested 'time' for each step and should take 50 minutes to complete.
