Annual Deep Self-Reflection and Resolutions

Report

I have been using these three frameworks for deep self-reflection every December. Use it to ensure you are intentional and realistic in how you approach the new year.

Step 1

A mind-map guides you through a stream-of-consciousness recollection of all the roles you played in the past year, and what worked or didn't work for you in those roles. This is a cathartic exercise to put all your wins and regrets down on "paper".

Step 2

The 4 L's matrix guides you to synthesize the experiences that came up in the previous step and identify what you loved, learned, lacked, and longed for.

Step 3

Now that you have deeply self-reflected, you can look ahead and set your intentions and resolutions for next year. The mind-map guides you to ensure that you are acknowledging and balancing intentions across all areas of your life. A 2x2 guides you to be realistic about what is achievable, and becomes your action plan for the year.
