Platform Thinking Journey (PTJ) – Miro Template for Innovation through Platforms

Unlock the power of platforms to transform your business. The Platform Thinking Journey (PTJ) Miro template is a hands-on visual toolkit designed to help organizations, from startups to established enterprises, apply the Platform Thinking methodology to reimagine value creation.

Inspired by the books Platform Thinking and The Transformative Spark, this template guides teams through the four key stages of the PTJ process: Framing, Design, Ignition, and Growth. Each phase includes curated tools and interactive canvases to help you uncover hidden value, map stakeholder dynamics, validate network effects, and define scalable platform strategies.

Whether you're launching a new platform initiative or pivoting an existing business model, this template supports a structured yet flexible innovation journey. You'll explore triggering questions, design and problem alternatives, and milestones that drive clarity and alignment across your team.

🎯 Why use this template?

  • Turn linear businesses into dynamic ecosystems

  • Identify and leverage idle assets

  • Map out multi-sided value creation

  • Design minimum viable platforms (MVPs)

  • Plan scalable ignition and growth strategies

Rooted in over a decade of academic research and dozens of real-world corporate case studies, the PTJ template offers both strategic insight and operational guidance. It’s not just for digital-native companies—this is the platform toolkit for everyone ready to rethink what they already have.

“The platform is already within your company—you just need the right lens to see it.” — The Digital Phoenix Effect - Trabucchi & Buganza, 2025
