Workshop Steps

  1. Introduction: Welcome participants to the DoD workshop, explain the purpose of the workshop and emphasize the importance of defining the DoD and having a shared understanding of "Done" for effective Scrum implementation.

  2. Present the Current Definition of Done: Review the existing Definition of Done if the team already has one. Discuss its contents and invite team members to share their thoughts and feedback. Encourage open discussion about any ambiguities or areas that need clarification.

  3. Brainstorming: Ask participants to individually contribute their ideas and suggestions for the Definition of Done by adding sticky notes to the board. Instruct them to focus on specific criteria, quality standards, and deliverables that should be included.

  4. Group Discussion: Facilitate a discussion by asking participants to take turns sharing their individual ideas. Encourage the team to discuss and agree upon specific, actionable criteria for each aspect of the Definition of Done. Prioritize clarity, measurability, and relevance when formulating the criteria, and make updates on the virtual whiteboard in real-time.

  5. Checklist : Based on the refined criteria, work together to create a checklist with everything that needs to be ticked off in order for a piece of work to be considered "Done".

  6. Review: Review the Definition of Done checklist as a team, ensuring that everyone understands how they are to put this to action and is in agreement.
