IDC MarketScape names Miro a Leader in Team Collaboration Applications

We are thrilled to announce that Miro has been named as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Team Collaboration Applications 2024 Vendor Assessment (doc #US51405624, November 2024). The IDC MarketScape is the premier vendor assessment tool in the information and communication technology industry. Click here to learn more and read an excerpt of the full report.

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.

IDC MarketScape identifies a “wave of collaborative optimization”

In this year’s IDC MarketScape report, Wayne Kurtzman — Research Vice President, Collaboration and Communities at IDC — notes: “Miro’s Innovation Workspace enables teams to get from idea to outcome faster.”

The report also noted: “Miro is hands-on collaboration and has evolved to be a more flexible, endless canvas suited for any size business. Customers applaud Miro for its significant time savings and crossing a broad range of use cases from sprints and brainstorming to facilitating customer workshops and team ‘meeting places.’”

With this new designation, Miro joins companies like Google, Microsoft, and Slack as leaders in collaboration applications worldwide, which IDC predicts will more than double to $78 billion by 2028.

According to the IDC MarketScape, “A wave of collaborative optimization has companies adding applications that help each function work best across internal silos and directly with customers and partners. These applications are integrated to become a collective single source of truth, and both better inform the workforce and help ground artificial intelligence (AI).”

Optimizing collaboration and fueling innovation in Miro

Today’s companies face the complex challenge of securely building connection and collaboration across distributed teams, while enabling crucial integrations organization-wide and, increasingly, leaning into the promises of AI. There is a hunger for tools, such as Miro, to break down internal silos that can slow innovation.

In addition to these critical features, users want collaboration applications to have modern, highly intuitive interfaces to enable a best-in-class experience — something we’ve long prioritized here at Miro.

That’s why the IDC MarketScape news comes as an exciting follow-up to our Innovation Workspace launch in October — the most significant product launch in Miro’s history. By embedding AI into our infinite canvas, the Innovation Workspace enables teams to innovate quickly, securely, and, importantly, together.

“We are delighted to receive this recognition from the IDC MarketScape,” said Jeff Chow, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Miro. “Being positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape report for Team Collaboration Applications is fantastic recognition of the value that Miro brings to its users.”

At Miro, our mission is to help companies build the next best thing. Strong collaboration isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s table-stakes in today’s competitive landscape, and we are honored to be recognized as a leading collaboration tool enabling the future of innovation.
