This is a template for those who need to find a way to approach UX Strategy from different aspects. Our template gives a clear sense of direction whilst taking business goals, engagement data, user painpoints into account to come up with a solid UX strategy.

  • Before the session, you need to decide on your moderator and the team formations.

  • Kick things off with a check-in exercise to warm-up your audience. Remember, you should name the moderators and the teams before the exercise.

  • Introduce the groups one by one and let the participants make a short intro.

  • Each group should have its own meeting link/room.

  • Assign your groups with the main tasks.

Group 1

  1. Discover your personas and their user journeys, focusing on their likes, pain points and needs.

  2. Put your findings on post-its and drag them onto the as-is user journey template.

  3. Build a UX strategy to meet your users' needs.

  4. Discuss possible solutions, take notes on post-its and stick them onto the to-be user journey template.

  5. If you have a live product, explain what features should be removed or expanded.

Group 2

  1. Take a look at the analytics data to understand user behavior from an analytics perspective.

  2. Take notes of the key takeaways on post-its.

  3. Divide your findings into buckets based on the use cases.

  4. Create a UX strategy to meet your users' needs.

  5. Build solution hypotheses and then think about metrics to measure the performance of your solutions.

  6. If you have a live product, write down what features should be removed or expanded.

Group 3

  1. Discuss your business goals, take a look at the competition & user needs, and spot possible development areas.

  2. Move post-its on your business goals, benchmarks and your company boards.

  3. Develop a UX strategy in line with your business goals.

  4. Add possible solution ideas based on your strengths and weaknesses.

  5. If you have a live product, write down what features should be removed or expanded.

  6. Transfer all your post-its onto the UX strategy canvas.

  7. Prioritize the solutions using the Eisenhower Matrix.

  8. Don't forget to finish your sessions with the check-out exercise!
