A great way to get a view of your user's current challenges is Experience Maps, a concept from Teresa Torres' book "Continuous Discovery Habits." If you don't have the time to do extensive research, get your whole team together instead and map out what everyone thinks the world looks like. This template supports setting up the process, the discussions, and the synthesis at the end.
