The Journey Mapping Template

Report

The Journey Mapping Template provides a workshop canvas and presentation template that helps teams outline the steps taken by a customer, learner, or stakeholder group when engaging with a system, product, brand, or service to fulfill a goal.

When to use The Journey Mapping Template

  • Create journey maps in the early research and empathy stages of a project to analyse and combine information.

  • Use throughout the design process as a reference point for teams.

  • Continue to iterate based on research synthesis and project definition.

How does The Journey Mapping Template work?

Use the Miro template for organising research findings in a 45-60 minute workshop with your team or to organise and present your Journey Mapping findings:

  • Set the context by describing the actor and the scenario.

  • Adjust the journey stages in the template to fit your specific journey. Modify the journey map table by adding, deleting, or editing rows and columns as required.

  • Fill in the template with details about touchpoints, actions, experiences, frustrations, and opportunities at each stage.

  • As you create the map, focus on identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
