Risk Storming Deck

Report

The Risk Storming Template is designed to help agile teams collaboratively identify and mitigate potential risks during backlog refinement. This template enhances communication and ensures that risks are addressed proactively before they escalate.

It contains three main sections:

  1. Risk Storming Playground: Upload images of your backlog items, providing visual context for identifying risks related to specific tasks or features.

  2. Card Selection Area: An organized section where team members can choose from a set of risk cards. This promotes structured discussions on potential risks.

  3. Voting Manual: A simple guide explaining how to use Miro’s voting tool to prioritize the most critical risks and brainstorm solutions.

The idea is straightforward: as a developer, I can play a Risk Card during refinement to spotlight a critical risk that might hinder a backlog item from being completed. This initiates a conversation around that specific risk, fostering team collaboration and risk mitigation.

If you're interested in using physical Risk Storming Cards for your sessions, they can be purchased here. Customize the template to your needs and empower your teams to tackle risks head-on! The latest version of the Cards can be found and downloaded from GitHub.
