Minions Retrospective

Report

The Minions Retrospective Template is designed for agile teams looking to add a fun and engaging twist to their retrospective meetings. Inspired by the playful nature of the Minions, this template encourages team members to reflect on their past sprint in a lighthearted yet productive manner. It is ideal for teams who want to foster creativity, collaboration, and a positive atmosphere while identifying areas for improvement.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Icebreaker Activity: Begin the session with the icebreaker question: "You command the minions for a day… What would you get up to?" This activity sets a fun tone and encourages everyone to participate.

  2. Main Board Discussion: Move to the main board where the core retrospective discussion takes place. Use the following categories to guide your conversation:

    • BANANA!!: Discuss what went well and what made the team feel good.

    • I SIT ON THE TOILET: Identify what didn’t go as planned and where mistakes were made.

    • SHRINK RAY: Explore potential tools or technologies that could help the team and areas for experimentation.

    • DR NEFARIO: Give shout-outs to team members who were great sidekicks.

  3. Dot Voting: Use Minion goggle tokens to vote on the most important and useful tickets on the board. This helps prioritize issues and ideas for the next sprint.

  4. Rate the Retro: Conclude the session by using a banana token to rate the retrospective on the Minion Mood board. This provides feedback on the session's effectiveness and enjoyment.

By following these steps, teams can conduct a retrospective that is both enjoyable and insightful, leading to continuous improvement and team cohesion.
