What is a Design Guide and Who is it For?

Design Guide is a resource for designers that helps understand and guide the chaotic design process. It outlines the types of projects your team usually take on, how to approach them, and what deliverables, artifacts, and resources could be part of the design process. It gives us a way to quickly identify some of the most common approaches to a project, that could either be a starting point or a way to get us moving when we get stuck. More Information on what the design guide is all about is in this article. And here you can find more detailes on how to build one specific to your team.

When to Use It?

A design guide is a helpful tool when it comes to:

· Onboarding

· Guiding Design Work

· External Engagements / Alignment

How to Use the Template?

Follow instructions provided in the template to fill out the board and create your own design guide. If you need extra help, here is a link to the article where I walk you through an approach you can take to making the guide your own.
