Problem Shortlisting / Prioritization
What is this canvas?
The Problem Shortlisting canvas allows for the filtering and shortlisting of the various brainstormed problems into a set of one or a few problems or problem spaces to be further explored. The canvas categorizes the problems based on priority of “now”, “next”, and “future”. The canvas allows for further and more focused exploration and validation of the shortlisted problems.
Why use this canvas?
Clear and visual categorization and prioritization of which problems should be tackled now vs. which problems can be tackled later
Provides a focus on the next phases of data gathering and user validation
Tip: There are a variety of prioritization matrices that can provide for the guidance of categorizing the problems into the canvas – one recommended prioritization matrix is impact vs. urgency.
