Content Design Manager

Design, Remote EMEA

About the Team

The Content Design team is part of Miro's Design org and plays a crucial role in shaping the user experience for some of our most high-priority initiatives. Currently a small but impactful team of two based in Amsterdam and Berlin, the team works in a centralised model embedded within high-priority cross-functional teams. As manager of this team, you'll oversee content design needs across Miro, strategically identifying and resourcing the most critical and highest leverage areas to maximise impact.

You’ll lead this dynamic team in close collaboration with design and research leadership and help scale our content design strategy to align with company goals. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by growing and guiding a team, cultivating successful collaboration, and driving excellence in content design craft across Miro.

About the Role

The Content Design Manager will lead and grow a team of content designers, shaping product narratives and delivering clear, engaging, and user-centric content across the Miro experience. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of content design frameworks and principles, who can establish standards and processes that elevate content quality and consistency. Initially, as the team is still growing, the role will require hands-on involvement with a select number of high-leverage projects, contributing directly to high-priority initiatives while shaping best practices.

What you’ll do

  • Grow and guide a team of content designers, cultivating a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, promotes continuous learning, and drives the delivery of high quality work
  • Be hands-on with a few high-leverage initiatives initially, to balance strategic improvements of content design at Miro with practical application of best practices
  • Develop and implement a unified content strategy and set of design principles that prioritise clarity and consistency, aligning with Miro’s user needs and strategic business goals across all digital platforms
  • Partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams to seamlessly weave content design into the product development journey
  • Champion and advocate for the importance of content design within Miro, effectively communicating its value to stakeholders and aligning content initiatives with high leverage projects and broader company vision

What you’ll need

  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in content design, UX writing, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of content design projects that showcase strategic thinking, user-centered design, and measurable impact on user experience and business outcomes
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and developing a team, with strong mentoring capabilities and a track record of fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX design, engineering, and marketing, ensuring alignment and integration of content into product strategies
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and advocate for content design’s role in enhancing user experience and achieving business goals
  • Strategic Mindset: Strong strategic thinking skills with an ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility in content design decisions

What's in it for you

  • Competitive equity package
  • Lunch, snacks and drinks provided in the office
  • Wellbeing benefit and WFH equipment allowance
  • Annual learning and development allowance to grow your skills and career
  • Opportunity to work for a globally diverse team
