Welcome to Miro’s hiring process.

Hiring is one of our key cultural building blocks, and we always come prepared to meet you. Here are some tips to ensure you have all the right information to succeed in our hiring process.

Welcome to Miro’s hiring process.

Application

Start with some self-reflection and research about our company mission and values. What are your key interests and strengths? Think about your passion and your desired next steps in your career. We recommend reading through our company mission statement to better understand what drives us.

Our values guide our interview process; learn more about them in our Life at Miro blog, where you can find career stories of your future colleagues. We’ll want you to showcase your most recent and relevant experiences to help our recruiters get to know your skills and strengths.

Ready to go beyond and feel that you would fit into Miro’s culture? Submit your application online. We’ll usually get back to you within a few business days.

We scheduled our first interview — now it's about finding a mutual match. The process may differ from team to team, but the basics apply. Most interviews take place on Zoom.

The process

The process usually starts with a call from one of our recruiters to understand your ambitions and relevant experiences that make you a good fit for the role.

During the screening, your recruiter will ask about your relevant skills, perspective on resilience, experience, and what you're looking for in a new opportunity. The recruiter screen also allows you to learn more about the role and Miro culture.

We’ll ask evidence-based questions. Think about specific examples and remember to highlight your own contributions to the projects. The STAR technique may help you! Keep your answers clear and concise. Ask questions and be curious.

If all goes well and there is a mutual match, we’ll proceed for you to meet with the hiring manager. Here they will look further into your experience, assessing whether you align with the Miro Mindset (Curiosity, Drive, Resilience, Empathy, Cognitive Agility & Accountability) and give you an overview of the team and what is expected in the role.

We are keen to hear
about your ability to:

  • Demonstrate resilience
  • Collaborate in a team environment
  • Dream big and prioritize
  • Learn and drive change
  • Practice empathy to gain insight

Miro Mindset is a collection of characteristics which we believe are critical for anyone to have and continually develop while working at Miro. We believe that talent who possess these skills are more likely to not only perform at their best, but also thrive in our unique culture. The Miro Mindset consists of six key traits:

1. Curiosity: Actively seeks new information, questions assumptions, and embraces experimentation to solve problems. 2. Drive: Possesses a relentless ambition, intrinsic motivation, and a commitment to exceed expectations while addressing challenges. 3. Resilience: Maintains optimism and emotional stability, learns from adversity, and sees challenges as opportunities for growth. 4. Empathy: Connects with others, shows compassion, and fosters social bonds, promoting a collective over individual mindset. 5. Cognitive Agility: Adapts to change, remains open to new ideas, and skillfully handles conflicting viewpoints. 6. Accountability: Takes full ownership, collaborates on solutions, and challenges the status quo when necessary.

We will assess the six key characteristics during two stages of our interview process: the Recruiter Screen and the Hiring Manager Interview. To prepare for the Miro Mindset Interview, please learn more here.

Miro Behaviors are the foundational elements that define us as Mironeers, shaping our work ethic and guiding our decision-making processes. These behaviors are integral to our culture, serving as our cultural code and common language within Miro. They describe how we operate and interact within our organization, ensuring that everyone aligns with our core values and principles.

At Miro, we value and consider diversity in all forms. We foster an inclusive culture where every individual, regardless of background, feels empowered to contribute authentically. Our commitment to equal opportunity and respect for unique perspectives drives our success, fosters innovation, and creates a dynamic workplace that empowers teams to create the next big thing.

We see diversity and inclusion as more than just an initiative. It's a mindset that is practiced throughout the entire organization. Examples include the way we develop professional development processes, support people managers in their work, and use our Miro Behaviors to foster an inclusive environment. The D&I team works together with teams throughout Miro to support where needed to keep fostering an inclusive environment.

On top of that, we are very proud of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These Mironeer-led spaces help foster a diverse and inclusive workplace that aligns with our values and collaborative mindsets. Our ERGs are crucial in ensuring that our environment is welcoming and supportive for everyone.

Our global community at Miro is incredibly diverse, with over 100 nationalities represented. We have teams working from 12 hubs across 8 different countries, allowing our community to flow beyond borders and bring together a rich tapestry of ideas and experiences.

Our business language is English, and while we are an international company with many languages spoken, we encourage you to apply in English.
