Head of Corporate Accounting and Operations

Department: Finance

Locations: Austin

Job Requisition ID: JR001768

About the Team

The Financial Reporting & Controllership Team serves as the bedrock of financial integrity at Miro, ensuring our growth is built on a foundation of precision, transparency, and trust. Our mission is to deliver impeccable financial insights and rigorous governance that empower our leaders to make bold, data-driven decisions with absolute confidence.

We are transforming the controllership function from a traditional back-office engine into a forward-looking strategic partner. By leveraging cutting-edge ERP automation and AI-enhanced reconciliation tools, we provide real-time visibility into our global financial health and proactive risk management. From managing the complexities of the month-end close to navigating the nuances of international compliance and statutory reporting, we ensure every digit reflects our commitment to excellence.

About the Role

We are looking for a precision-oriented Head of Corporate Accounting and Operations to serve as the engine of our financial operations. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives on process optimization and high-stakes reporting. You will be responsible for the integrity of our global ledger, the seamless execution of our audit, and the implementation of AI-driven automation to modernize our accounting function.

You are someone who views a "clean audit" as a baseline and "process automation" as the goal. You have the technical depth to review a complex hedge entry but the communication skills to explain a quarterly flux to an investor.

What you’ll do

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Own the quarterly consolidated flux analysis and the preparation of board/reporting package slides, providing clear narratives for executive leadership
  • Audit & Project Management: Serve as the lead project manager for the global annual audit, coordinating with international teams and external auditors to ensure a timely completion
  • Close Management: Command the global close timeline, ensuring all deadlines are met across entities while maintaining a rigorous Journal Entry (JE) review process
  • Technical Accounting & Equity: Manage equity reporting (including stock-based comp) and oversee the accounting for complex instruments, including hedging, capitalized commissions, and capitalized software
  • Investor Relations Support: Partner with the leadership team on investor reporting, ensuring all external financial communications are accurate and compliant
  • AI & Systems Innovation: Act as the functional lead for the GL piece of our AI automation project, identifying opportunities to leverage AI for JEs, reconciliations, and anomaly detection
  • Compliance & Documentation: Author and maintain annual GL memos and technical positions to ensure the company’s accounting policies remain robust and current
  • Ad Hoc Projects & Strategic Initiatives: Act as the lead for the GL department, spearheading high-impact projects including M&A integration, new entity setup, or technical research into emerging accounting standards as business needs evolve

What you’ll need

  • Certification: Active CPA is a plus
  • Experience: 8–12+ years of accounting experience, including a leadership role within a global, multi-entity environment
  • Technical Mastery: Strong command of GAAP/IFRS, particularly regarding equity, and consolidations
  • Systems Fluency: Advanced experience with ERP systems and a genuine interest in AI/automation tools for finance
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects like global audits or system implementations

What's in it for you

We want you to feel supported, connected, and ready to grow. Our global benefits package generally includes equity, a wellbeing benefit, a WFH equipment allowance, and an annual Learning & Development stipend. Join a diverse team where you can do your best work. Full benefits may differ per location. If you would like to learn more about location-specific benefits, please refer to our Global Miro benefits board.
