About the Team

The Head of Performance will play a pivotal role in building a world class organisation by facilitating a process of designing and embedding a performance management system that is aligned with Miro’s Talent philosophy,  strategic objectives and Miro behaviours. This role will drive alignment across all areas impacting performance while also creating the necessary tools to support our managers.  

Our aim is to build a sustainable and consistent performance process which inspires growth including approach to expectation setting, continuous development through feedback/ feedforward, and link to pay and rewards. By fostering a culture of high performance and defined excellence, we will ensure every individual and teams are clear on what success looks like and are recognized for their impact. 

About the Role

The Head of Performance will help us unlock untapped opportunities by establishing clear, scalable performance systems and processes. With a thoughtful and structured approach, this role will:
  • Enhance Visibility: Provide clarity on performance metrics, enabling informed decision-making and goal-setting on an ongoing basis;
  • Align Rewards with Results: Introduce systems that transparently connect performance outcomes and behaviours with recognition and rewards, ensuring fairness, equality and consistency;
  • Maximize Potential: Empower every employee to understand expectations, contribute meaningfully, and achieve their best work.
  • Support Managers: Equip managers with the tools, frameworks, and confidence to effectively onboard team members, set expectations, and guide ongoing performance.

This role will bring together the relevant Rewards, Talent development, People Tech, Finance and functional areas contributing to performance. Acting as a cross functional PMO. 

What you’ll do

1. Design and Launch a Performance Management System
  • Reintroduce a performance framework that aligns strategic and annual goals with individual and team objectives, across Miro 
  • Create a system linking performance to rewards (compensation philosophy), ensuring transparency, equality and fairness. This includes designing a performance bonus pool to all levels of the org and ensure performance is differentiated with all pay decisions
  • Incorporate behaviors into performance reviews to ensure alignment with company culture and values
  • Continuously work on improvements based on input from Mironeers through listening and insight gathering
  • Ensure the right technology aimed at simplification of the process and improved Mironeers experience
2. Build Visibility and Accountability
  • Establish a unified process for tracking performance metrics across teams
  • Develop tools and dashboards to provide leadership and teams with actionable insights into performance
  • Ensure employees understand how their work contributes to overall company objectives
3. Drive a Culture of High Performance and Recognition
  • Develop processes to identify, nurture, and reward top performers
  • Introduce clear and consistent methods for recognizing results and behaviors
  • Champion initiatives that reinforce a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement
4. Upskill Managers and Onboard Effectively
  • Create a structured process for rapid onboarding and expectation-setting for new hires
  • Design training programs for managers to enhance their ability to set clear goals, provide feedback, and support their teams (manager as a coach)

What you’ll need

We’re looking for someone who can:
  • Design Systems for Scale: You have experience creating and implementing people and org related frameworks in a structured yet agile and adaptable way
  • Communicate with Impact: You can facilitate high-stakes conversations with senior leaders and align diverse teams
  • Drive Accountability and Growth: You understand how to measure performance, set expectations, and reward outcomes in a way that inspires and motivates
  • Upskill and Empower: You have a track record enabling teams to succeed
  • Blend Strategy and Execution: You can move seamlessly between high-level strategy and detailed implementation
  • Lead cross functionally, without direct reporting
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in implementing people related changes, system and processes ideally as consultant and in-house. Preferably also within tech environments
  • Strong principals first approach with the ability to gather data, requirements, synthesize, design with end users in mind and constantly iterate
  • Ideally a good understanding of goal-setting methodologies (e.g., OKRs) and incentive types
  • Passion for building a culture of accountability, excellence, and growth

The reasonably estimated salary range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations. The range for this role is $184.800 to $254.000. Final compensation and total package components will be based on individual factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
