The AI team at Miro is responsible for building AI capabilities to power the Miro platform and end-to-end product experiences. This includes building end-to-end AI native experiences ourselves and providing other product teams at Miro with the technology they need to embed AI capabilities themselves.

About the Role
We're looking for a Head of Design for our AI team who will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, development, and implementation of AI initiatives across Miro.
Collaborating closely with our Product, Engineering and Product Marketing teams you will lead a small team of AI designers to ideate, prototype and develop AI solutions that can be integrated into Miro's platform. The AI team is responsible for building AI-powered capabilities and end-to-end product experiences. This includes building end-to-end AI native experiences and providing other teams with the technology they need to enrich with AI the capabilities they own.
You will be well connected with the rapidly growing and changing AI landscape, up to speed with the latest developments and research, ready to keep Miro on the cutting edge of this space. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of AI technologies, a proven track record of successful AI projects, and the ability to align AI strategies with business objectives.
This position can be based in our London, Berlin, or Amsterdam hubs and we have a 2 days in office policy per week.
What you’ll do
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the AI strategy, aligning it with the company’s overall business goals and product vision
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a small and high-performing AI team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including PMs, Engineering, and Marketing
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate AI strategies, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership, and other key stakeholders
- Ethics and Compliance: Ensure AI initiatives adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements, promoting responsible AI practices
What you’ll need
- Strong understanding of key AI concepts (on a high-level) and how different AI technologies (e.g. machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision) can be applied to create different types of AI-powered features
- Ability to understand technical constraints and translate them into design requirements
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with AI engineers and machine learning research scientists
- Ability to anticipating potential risks and failures in AI systems and designing contingencies
- Ability to design for edge cases and ensuring robustness in AI-driven user interactions
- Awareness of ethical issues in AI, including algorithmic bias, hallucinations, and user privacy
- Strong understanding of the role of data in AI and ability to assess the implications of data quality and biases on AI performance and user experience
