The Growth stream is all about activating value for end users for example Consultants team is focused on the needs of professional consultants, tailoring for their specific needs and the Miroverse team builds cross-product features and shared components for our community platforms (e.g. Miroverse or Marketplace). The teams build solutions by running a large volume of experiments, building user engagement with the product.

Most of the Growth team is based in Amsterdam.

Each role at Miro is based at one of our physical hubs and we look for talent that wants to be part of these local, collaborative communities. Mironeers work in a hybrid model, with a 2 days a week in office culture as our baseline.

About the Role

As a Backend Engineer in our Growth stream, your work will have direct business impact and it will influence other Miro development teams as well - so this role is suitable for you if you want to combine direct impact on the user experience and infrastructure work.

Some teams within Growth include:

• Retention & Engagement - teams focusing mostly on new user experience and customer education
• Experimentation: Powers the infrastructure on which experimentation is enabled
• Notifications: Owns the communication between Miro and the customer via both internal and external channels
• Website: Owns the backend core for miro website, as well as all efforts related to public-facing miro.com website, including PPC and SEO
• Monetization - teams responsible for pricing, payments, accounting and authorization, in addition to experimenting with changes to self serve plans, invites and business logic
• Acquisition - new, experimental projects aimed at customer acquisition, such as Web Whiteboard
• Community Platforms - a couple of teams building our user-generated content capabilities such as Miroverse

What you’ll do

• Help create prototypes in order to test hypotheses for features that would create growth
• Be in charge of maintaining the needed backend infrastructure and APIs for our projects
• Collaborate with other backend engineers in order to integrate our solutions for different parts of our products

What you’ll need

• 8+ years experience with backend technologies. We currently use Java 11 and Spring (+Spring Boot), Kotlin, and Node.js
• Experience working with and designing APIs
• Good communication skills
