Where we are
Berlin is known for being creative, cultural, and edgy. Home to a thriving tech community, you’ll also find a thumping club scene, some of the world’s best galleries and museums, and plenty of green space to escape the city.
It’s really the most amazing place. You can find everything and everyone here, from hipsters to hard techno fans to families and kids playing football in one of the parks. There are so many restaurants and cafes, each of them serving drinks and dishes from around the world.
Currently situated within a WeWork in buzzing Friedrichshain, Miro’s Berlin office is a casual and comfortable oasis. Dogs are welcome here, and you can expect visits from kids and families too. No dress code means all Mironeers can wear whatever lets us feel self-expressive and at ease. Our prime location means culture, nature, and entertainment are just around the corner.
Who we are
Berlin is the country’s most international city, with 20% of the population born outside Germany. This makes for a diverse and international atmosphere at our Berlin office, and you can often find sweets and snacks from all over the world brought in by colleagues who have visited their home countries. Our community is tight-knit, accessible, and welcoming of every Mironeer who joins us.
Just like our product, we want our hub community to feel collaborative. Office perks, such as daily provided lunches and a well-stocked snack bar, help fuel a collaborative work environment. Our Core Product teams of Engineering, Product, and Design, work and hang out cross-collaboratively, at the lunch table and common spaces. When our brains need a break, a quick competitive game of foosball (“kicker” in Germany) or a game of chess usually does the trick.
What we do
Employee well-being and community-building are essential to a healthier and more productive work environment, and we reflect that in our office’s rituals. Our All Hands and biweekly Miro Connect lets us celebrate our cross-functional projects and spotlight one another’s efforts. Ask Me Anything events provide candid conversations with visiting leadership, and twice a month we get to know our newest fellow Mironeers over Newcomer Rituals. We also love coming together over a beer and pizza at our weekly Beer Fridays. Twice a year, for three days in a row, all Mironeers come together to participate in our hybrid Hackathons.
We’re also there for one another beyond the confines of work. Hub Clubs and local-centric Slack channels let Berlin parents figure out school systems and exchange parenting advice, enable musicians to jam with and support one another, gather book clubs together for literary fun, and allow fitness lovers to organize group bike rides or 5k runs. Employee resource groups help foster a diverse and inclusive workplace that serves to connect not just Berlin Mironeers, but Mironeers from all over the world.
