About the Role

As a Software Engineer in a Forward Deployed Engineer role, you will partner directly with customers to design and ship solutions on Miro. You’ll operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and work across multiple teams and codebases. You thrive in a high‑pace environment, communicate clearly, and deliver outcomes that matter. This is a great opportunity to pioneer a new function at Miro and be part of its shaping and success. This role can be fully remote or based out of one of Miro’s US hubs in Austin, New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles, but will require travel - our customers’ location and Miro’s European offices.

You are customer‑obsessed, action‑oriented, and comfortable owning outcomes end‑to‑end. You navigate ambiguity, make data‑informed decisions, and communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical audiences. You move fast, iterate, and deliver high‑quality software that creates real value.

What you’ll do

  • Engage with customers to understand goals and translate them into technical solutions
  • Design, build, and deploy full‑stack features and integrations on Miro
  • Create scalable distributed services and APIs that are reliable and secure
  • Prototype quickly, iterate with feedback, and drive projects to production
  • Collaborate across product, design, professional services and engineering
  • Establish best practices, documentation, and handoffs for long‑term ownership
  • Measure impact, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve solutions

What you’ll need

Must‑have
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Proven experience working closely with customers to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, systems)
  • Proven track record of applying platform thinking and using evolutionary architecture pattern to deliver for both short term and long term needs
  • Experience building distributed systems at scale
  • Full‑stack development experience (frontend, backend, APIs, data)
  • Proficiency with AI coding tools to increase velocity and quality
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice‑to‑have
  • Background in SaaS, collaboration tools, or workflow platforms
  • Exposure to security, compliance, and enterprise deployment patterns
  • Track record in forward‑deployed, solutions engineering, or professional services roles

The reasonably estimated salary range is specific to Los Angeles and may not be applicable to other locations. Final compensation and total package components will be based on individual factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. The range for this role is:

$144$215 USD

$164$246 USD
