We're looking for a passionate and skilled AI Product Engineer to join Tables team in Amsterdam.

Tables team (Structured Modes stream) is at the forefront of Miro's structured widget capabilities. We are a small, highly experienced group responsible for enabling our customers to visualize and interact with first and third-party structured content directly on the canvas. Our work is foundational, driving the seamless movement between multiple stages and accelerating Miro's adoption in the definition and delivery phases of innovation. We thrive on tackling complex technical challenges within our core canvas collaboration ecosystem, powering critical structured formats like Tables, Timelines, Kanban View and Documents, as well as high-impact integrations such as Jira.

About the Role

As an AI Product Engineer for the Tables team, you will step into a pivotal role at the heart of Miro’s collaborative canvas. This opportunity arises from our growth and proactive investment in our AI platform to make our formats truly AI‑powered and integratable with all our flagship AI product capabilities (e.g., AI Flows, AI Sidekicks, etc.). You will design and build AI‑powered capabilities that enhance how users create, transform, and collaborate on structured content across the entire platform (e.g., Tables, Kanban View, Timeline, Documents), with a focus on delightful, safe, and reliable product experiences.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define, design, and implement new AI‑powered capabilities in the domain, from ideation and prototyping through to production and iteration.
  • Design, develop, and ship AI-driven capabilities—including agents, intelligent assistants, context-aware prediction, and generative AI—that enhance Tables customer experience, from ideation to delivery using Python, top-tier LLMs, Typescript, React, Canvas, WebGL, WS;
  • Experiment with AI ideas for Tables domain leveraging off-the-shelf large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, etc.), prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and generative techniques—ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating emerging AI tools, frameworks, and techniques—and advocating for their application across the entire domain.
  • Measure and optimize AI performance and quality of AI generation, establishing benchmarks for outcomes like user engagement, model accuracy, latency, error rate, and drift.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards;
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge‑sharing sessions across the stream, fostering best practices in AI product development and LLMs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and performance of our services.

 

What you’ll need

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a proven track record of leading and delivering AI-first capabilities in customer-facing products—driving value through features users directly interact with
  • A grounding in machine learning fundamentals, including probabilistic modeling and deep neural networks
  • Demonstrated track record in prompt engineering and context engineering using top-tier LLMs—e.g., OpenAI GPT models, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini.
  • Excellent knowledge of Javascript and related FE technologies (React, Typescript, Webpack etc);
  • Experience with MLOps and Cloud services (Amazon Q, Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, AWS S3, etc);
  • Good working knowledge of creating high-performance interfaces using fundamental rendering technologies such as WebGL, Canvas API or related 2D graphics libraries (e.g. PixiJS, Skia etc);
  • Experience in developing interactive products with realtime technologies (e.g. Websocket);
