About the Role
The Junior AP Specialist, as the newest member of the AP team, will have a crucial role in the journey of invoice processing. They will be responsible for reviewing invoices in great detail to ensure accuracy and timely payments to vendors. The AP specialist will be at the center of our accounts payable operations, assisting with tasks such as invoice coding, payment processing, and vendor communication, all while adhering to the company's policies and procedures.
We're looking for someone who's got a sharp eye for detail, great organizational skills and is awesome with numbers. You should be an expert in data entry, super accurate, and able to handle deadlines like a pro. We're also big on soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. We want someone who's always ready to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Being proactive is really important to us, so we need you to be able to anticipate issues and take action before they become problems.
What you’ll do
- Process invoices received from vendors accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure that invoices are approved and coded correctly in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and process payment runs using the designated payment platforms (e.g., ZIP, JPM).
- Assist with vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular reviews of the AP aging report and actively work to clear aged outstanding items.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, to streamline AP processes and resolve issues.
- Participate in month-end closing activities, such as reconciliations and accruals, as needed. Providing support to other accounting team members
What you’ll need
- You have 1 year+ of experience in Accounts Payable
- Basic understanding of principles of finance, bookkeeping, and accounting
- Knowledge of full-cycle Accounts Payable processes and ERP (NetSuite is a plus)
- Experience collaborating with a distributed team / shared service center
- You are proficient in English, both written and spoken
- You are a proactive problem-solver and a skilled communicator. You are capable of working independently, yet also thrive in a team setting.
- Experience pulling reports, analyzing data, and drawing insights to be shared with the team
