The Content Discovery teams play a crucial role in assisting large organizations in effectively securing their content within Miro. This is particularly vital for enterprise-level entities where the control and regulation of significant volumes of sensitive data pose a considerable challenge. Focused on the Miro Enterprise Guard, our teams are dedicated to extracting data from our content and identifying potentially sensitive information that can be classified by other services and subsequently secured. By pioneering innovative approaches to handling user content, we make a substantial impact on the operations of major companies.

Our teams take ownership of a suite of newly developed services, employing cutting-edge technologies and architecture. These services are designed to handle substantial volumes of critical data, presenting engineers with intriguing challenges in performance optimization and reliability enhancements. Through our efforts, we aim to provide our clients with robust solutions for safeguarding their valuable content and driving operational efficiency.

About the Role

In the domain of content security, we're seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. You'll dive into the heart of Miro Enterprise Guard, where your responsibilities will span various aspects of functionality. Autonomy and proactivity are key traits we value, alongside your ability to collaborate closely with Product managers, Data engineers, Architects, and fellow engineers. From requirement definition to technical design and implementation, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our product. Utilizing top-notch quality and technology standards, your coding expertise will ensure our features meet the highest standards while maintaining a deep sense of empathy for our customers' needs. This role is crucial to enhancing our content discovery framework, ensuring it remains robust and effective in safeguarding sensitive data.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct technical research to define low-level implementation details based on product requirements.
  • Develop architecture, designs, functionality, and proof of concepts (POCs) to validate business ideas.
  • Support feature development across all stages, from kick-off to implementation, testing, release, and feature usage data analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineers from various teams to enhance architecture, reliability, and development processes across the organization

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience building high volume backend systems in monolithic and/or distributed architectures
  • Demonstrated experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
  • Python and/or Rust is a plus
  • Proficiency in developing services and interfaces with sophisticated integrations
  • Experience in service stability monitoring
  • Excellent team player with a customer-centric mindset, dedicated to understanding and fulfilling client requirements
  • Strong prioritization skills and an execution-focused mindset, able to manage conflicting requirements
