About the Team

Our team is called Kubernetes Networking and we're part of the Cloud Engineering and Operations sub-stream of the Infrastructure stream.

About the Role

Our Kubernetes Networking team, based in Amsterdam, NL, is expanding to provide stable, reliable, and highly available solutions to hundreds of developers and the services they deploy. We focus on service-to-service communication, supporting the adoption of Kubernetes and best practices on microservices development.

What you’ll do

  • Continuously improve the operation of our service mesh and API gateway implementation.
  • Build and lead our CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub) and automate Infrastructure-as-Code deployments.
  • Implement automation and observability across infrastructure resources.
  • Propose and implement improvements to our infrastructure stack.
  • Participate in operational rotations to resolve incidents in our production environment.
  • Develop and implement governance policies for our cloud infrastructure.

What you’ll need

  • 8+ years experience
  • Experience building services, or tooling, that other developers used to build or run their workloads
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and networking
  • Familiar with IaC / GitOps and related CI/CD toolset
  • Comfortable supporting other engineers in the organization
  • Love reading and writing documentation
  • Experience maintaining service mesh or API gateways is a plus
  • Experience building high-load and large-scale distributed systems is a plus
  • Experience writing code in a server-side programming language is a plus
