Many people ask, can I get pregnant in luteal phase? The luteal phase starts right after ovulation and lasts until your next period. During this time, the egg’s life is very short—about 12 to 24 hours. After that, it’s no longer viable, and pregnancy is unlikely. However, if ovulation happens later than expected or if sperm is already present from intercourse earlier, there could be a small chance of conception early in the luteal phase.
