About the role

Miro's Head of Creative Operations plays a meaningful role in ensuring our creative process is appropriately designed to fuel business growth with the ability to timely capitalize on marketplace opportunity. This role requires an advanced understanding and appreciation for the strategic and operational aspects of the creative process, and the desire to constantly grow its capacity to drive profitable business results.

The position will lead the operational branch of our creative studio focussing on building a creative team integral to supporting a swiftly growing business. Our Head Creative of Operations will partner with the Executive Creative Director to build an organization that fosters and accelerates creative ideation and execution. You will champion the business and operating mind of the creative department. Developing Miro's Creative Studio into a center of excellence for world class design, illustration, and film, serving creative needs across the organization whilst pushing forward our iconic brand!

Our ideal candidate will challenge conventions and traditional ways of working. Improving creative development and delivery, with a specific focus on creative practices that are driven alongside Miro's commercial agenda. Maintaining the highest bar on quality, running projects, measuring success, and evangelizing the team’s work internally and externally. You will partner across the full spectrum of teams within Miro driving a plethora of projects to completion.

What you’ll do

Our Head of Creative Operations will focus on three key areas:

Creative Operations:

  • Partner with leadership, finance, project leads, and creative teams to ensure resources are deployed in alignment with the marketing calendar and in accordance of business goals
  • Prepare, distribute, and analyze creative resource utilization reports, communicating findings to partners
  • Spearhead and drive creative department staffing projects
  • Managing relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other external parties
  • Champion the ongoing development and improvement of Creative operations, refining roadmap planning and developing a comprehensive strategy for both immediate and long-term goals
  • Track performance against a number of critical metrics to identify and define continuous improvement

Creative Resource Management:

  • Collaborate alongside our ECD to review, prioritize and communicate appropriate resource requirements for projects whilst resolving any conflicts of priority.
  • Develop and maintain a deep appreciation of our creatives experience, strengths, and interests to staff projects effectively

Creative Talent:

  • Partner with ECD to find world-class creative talent for Miro in-house creative studio.
  • Ensure external agencies and freelance resources are working within a cohesive narrative.
  • Nurture the best environment for our creative talent to succeed. Monitor creative performance, and identify opportunities for growth

What you’ll need

  • 10+ years of creative operations and or content production experience, preferably at a major creative agency, production house, or in-house studio
  • 5+ years managing a team of direct reports
  • Proven experience with managing creative teams, agency P&L, leadership, operations and team management within a 20+ headcount division
  • Financially savvy with experience forecasting and balancing budgets across multiple objectives, programs and departments
  • International experience or experience working with global teams; strong understanding of localization standards and practices is a plus
  • Expert knowledge of production management, workflow, infrastructure, project life cycles and management methodologies

Soft Skills:

  • Keen ability to grasp complexity quickly and focus on key issues; adaptable to change, and calm under pressure
  • Passion for advertising, design, and pop culture
  • Eager to build scalable, reliable systems for partners to design global marketing campaigns
  • Ability to see the big picture while also focusing on the details
